Food crop condition

Note: The food crop condition processor has NDVI vegetation index as its main dependency together an Area of Interest (AoI) drawn or supplied by the user. NDVI variability will be analysed only in areas with food crops cover. The processor requires the user to be accurate in indicating the AoI: either by drawing on the platform or by uploading the fields. The processor performs statistical analyses to measure the variability within each field provided by the user. If the fields contain land uses other than food crops, these elements will enter the variability analysis and generate possible deviations that do not match the actual field status.

This processor is not suited to assess the health condition of irrigated rice fields, as in such cases there is no direct link between the NDVI and the health status of the crop.

Draw processing area polygon or select a .kml or .zip file to upload. The processing area maximum extent permitted is 48400 square kilometres Be sure to select an area that includes no more than four Sentinel-2 tiles. You can check the "Sentinel-2 tiles layer" button below to display the Sentinel-2 tiles grid.

Note: Dekadal variability over NDVI index is generated. Processes such as outliers’ removal or gap filling are considered in this processor.
